Romance Round-Up: Reclaim and Piece by Piece are both LIVE and more!

We read two amazing books this week! Reclaim by Aly Martinez and Piece by Piece by Kaylee Ryan!

Since reading Release, I’ve been dying for Nora’s story. I had this need to see things from her side.

I didn’t know how much this story was going to gut me. Just when you think Aly has written the most perfect book, she comes back and exceeds all expectations.

Cam and Nora’s story was full of heartbreak, longing, insecurities and regret. But the one thing they always managed to do, was come back to each other.

Holy moly. The tears I shed for this book. Their hurt. Their anger. The injustices. It is simply put as my top read of 2020.

Choices. Everyone makes them. From mundane to unimaginable, one choice can change the trajectory of your entire life.

My mother’s choice was to abandon us with our abusive father.
My brother’s choice was to go to prison for killing the boy who assaulted his soulmate.
Camden Cole’s choice was to fall in love with a shattered girl who had absolutely nothing to offer him but heartbreak.

It was one summer beneath the trees, but with Camden, I had a place where I belonged.
A friend who was always waiting for me.
A boy who I caught staring at me more often than not.

He was mine, but when the world closed in and secrets exploded all around us, it was my choice to let him go.

Choices. Everyone makes them.
But mine would ruin us all.

Reclaim is a standalone that can be read and enjoyed independently. However, it will contain spoilers for Release.

If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would.

I absolutely fell in love with Owen Riggins. I mean who doesn’t love those Riggins boys? The way he was drawn to Layla, just captivated me. While it was a little insta-love, it was written so flawlessly that it didn’t matter. I enjoyed watching their story unfold and how he wanted to protect her.

Kaylee has always been able to suck me into her stories. She stole my heart with this one though.

Owen Riggins is too good to be true. The best things in life usually are. He’s good looking, generous and interested in me. Too bad someone like him and someone like me aren’t’ meant to be together.

He’s used to the best things in life, and I’ve grown up with the worst. Building a better life means working hard and staying on track, not falling for some sexy suit with a brooding stare who is just passing through.

Life has taught me not to trust, and even though I want him more than anything, I don’t need his charity or his love…

When a friend sends me to Florida to scout out a hotel, it’s the gorgeous waitress with a shy smile and worn-out shoes I can’t take my eyes off of.

Layla Massey is quiet, beautiful, and in need of a little help- even if she won’t admit it. A generous tip was meant to buy her some suitable shoes, not to buy her love. I want to earn that all on my own.

I’m used to women throwing themselves at me, the name, the money… but she wants neither. It makes me want her all the more.

Little by little, she opens up and piece by piece, she’s taking my heart.
